Wedding Fashion For Men

Men’s fashion goes just under the radar in wedding planning. Most grooms, including their groomsmen, go to the nearest men’s warehouse and rent their wedding day wear right down to the socks. I do believe men’s formalwear for the most part is slightly lack luster in options and style choices. I also think that there are ways to up the style of the rented tuxedo with some meaningful accessories. Adding something to a tuxedo that you can keep to remember your wedding day is a great way to change the same old rental tuxedo into your custom style. The wedding is a perfect time to invest in a luxury watch, cuff links, or a bow tie to pair with your tuxedo.

Mens Rolex Datejust The Men’s Rolex Datejust is the cornerstone of all Rolex wristwatches and a best-seller worldwide. With its intricately-constructed, flexible Oyster Bracelet it fits snugly yet comfortably around the wrist. The Datejust is flashy enough for a night on the town yet conservative enough to remain a classic in the workplace.

How to Buy the Perfect Wedding Gown for Less

The Dress. The Dress is the most important part to many brides. Choosing the dress has become a process worthy of TV entertainment. This step in the wedding planning can really throw a budget out of whack and cause a lot of stress and anxiety. The way to avoid the most stressful aspects of dress shopping and to head off unexpected cost is the topic for today’s money saving wedding tips.
Communication is the key to any good relationship. The better you can communicate with your bridal consulate, the better he/she will be able to help you get into your dream dress. Ways to help this communication happen are to have proper bridal boutique etiquette and know some bridal gown lingo.

First, make an appointment. Making an appointment ensures that you will have the undivided attention of a professional during the dress choosing process.
– Only bring people whose opinions matter.  No one wants their time wasted, not your friends and not the consultant.
-Know your budget!!! Also, tell the consultant the max you can pay including alterations, veil, shoes, the whole shibang.
-Learn how to tell the consultant what you are looking for.
-After you have made your appointment, do the research necessary so when you absolutely love/have to have a dress or your day will be ruined but the dress is just out of your budget, you will know how to make it happen.
Here are basic vocabulary words to learn before your appointment.
Mermaid/Trumpet: Fitted Bodice, the flair starts at the knee or below.

Mermaid/Trumpet This alluring train wedding dress is crafted from sophisticated satin and organza fabrics. It features strapless design with sweetheart neckline and mermaid trumpet silhouette. Designed to show the curves of your body, this kind of mermaid trumpet wedding dress is fitted on the bodice and hips, and flare out into a trumpet shape at the knee, making it glamorous and dramatic. Exquisite appliques and embellish the dress for added charm. Stunning bead works decorate the high waist for enhanced glamor. This wedding dress is available from size 2 to size 28. We also offer a made-to-measurement service. If you would like to customize one, please offer your custom measurement. Customized colors and sizes will be at reasonable prices.

A line: Fitted bodice modest flair skirt.

A line Eliza J Petite Dress, Strapless Beaded Sweetheart Neck A-Line Bridal Gown.

Full Ball Gown: Fitted bodice large full princess skirt.

Ball Gown Princess Dress Every bride wants to be different and unique in every way. In walking down the aisle, all eyes should be on you, the bride. Your wedding dress should be beautiful and eye catching enough to capture the attention of the whole crowd. This fabulous strapless bridal dress features a classic ball gown silhouette with sweetheart neckline, giving an elegant princess look. Stunning beads decorate the fitted bodice adding instant glamor. The full skirt and elegant train give this ball gown dress a regal style that any bride would love. The quality satin fabric shows an elegant and sophisticated look. Delicate pleats complete the design for a perfect finishing touch.

Sheath: Unreconstructed long slim, dose not have a fitted bodice.

Sheath Dress This kind of wedding dress is made of high quality material, soft for touching and comfortable enough for wearing. The design is more dramatic in appearance than any other gown without ornaments.

Empire: High waist, gather below the bust.

Empire Dress Well-placed rhinestones lend a rich luxury to this white silk-chiffon gown. Ruched bodice, empire waist, and cap sleeves.

Drop waist: Loose or fitted bodice, accentuates just below the waist or the waist its self.

Drop Wasit Dress Sequins, beads and embroidery decorate a gown with a fitted, dropped-waist bodice and a dramatically plunging back. Strips of tulle lend fluttery texture to the floor-grazing skirt.

How to avoid unexpected cost when purchasing a wedding dress:
Now that you are armed with your new vocabulary and have made your appointment, lets talk about tools that can help you to save some money on that dream dress.
First, try to buy a sample. Sample dresses or floor model dress can be discounted up to 30%.
– Talk to tailors outside of the bridal boutique about alliteration cost.
-Buy your accessories elsewhere. There are many discount bridal boutiques that sell veils, garters, or head pieces much cheaper. My veil was 14$ and the place I bought my dress was selling a very similar style for 300$… no joke.
-Wedding shoes are just shoes. Shop around. The same goes for undergarments and wraps. Just because you are wearing it for your wedding does not mean it has to be from a wedding store.

The next tip is for brides and the bridal party. Everyone wants the “Say Yes to the Dress” experience.  Target, Nordstroms, Macy’s, and Bloomingdales along with many others all sell bridal or white gowns. These box stores offer tons of discounts. They also offer unique affordable bridesmaid gowns. Check out these from online retailers you already shop at. ( no dyed shoes please)

Money Saving Wedding Tips:How to Cut your Flower Budget

Yesterday, the money saving wedding tip was to plan, then plan some more to figure out the items you are going to spend the majority of your budget on. Today’s money saving wedding tip is about how to cut flower cost in your wedding. Flowers can be 8% to 10% of your overall budget. Depending on the style of your wedding, flowers may play a large role in the over all decor.
Some tips on how to cut cost on flowers is to choose flowers that are in season during your big day. Do your research into the flowers you want to have at your wedding, paying attention to seasons and if there are any flowers grown locally.
These flowers are available anytime of the year:  Alstromeria, Anthurium, Aster, Bourvardia, Carnation, Chrysanthemum, Gerbera Daisy, Lily, and Asiatic Lily.
Another idea is to do your own flowers. I know you are not a florist, neither am I nor is any one in my family, but I bought boxed stem from Sam’s Club and chose arrangements that I could create myself.

Here is a tutorial video about creating your own fresh flower arrangements.

Check out all these arrangements that you could do yourself to help cut your flower budget.

Money Saving Tips for Wedding Planning

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. This week Fashion Stylist is going to be focusing on giving you all of the money saving tips and style advice you could hope for in wedding planning. Thanksgiving through January is engagement season. For all of you who are recently engaged Congratulations and welcome to wedding planning!
The most important tip in wedding planning is to plan! plan! plan! Weddings are filled with unforeseen expense, emotions and stress take the time to properly plan and prepare for everything you can.
The first step is to think about your dream wedding with your new fiance. Put together mood boards combining all of your wildest wedding dreams paying no attention to cost. You could use our look builder to this ( its free), clip pictures from magazines, or scour the internet.

Step two, Decide what is most important to the two of you. For Chris and I, we wanted the best food our budget would allow, and a unique venue. These non negotiable s will be the items you will spend the most of your budget on. Also decide the things that you are willing to spend the least on. From there you will create a general theme. Such as Formal, Casual, or a non traditional wedding.

Formal Wedding Ideas Several characteristics of a formal wedding: engraved or thermographed invitations for up to two hundred guests; two to six bridesmaids and ushers; Bride attired in long gown and veil; Groom and ushers in tuxedos; reception with full meal and drinks follow the ceremony. Usually a band or DJ provides music music at the reception.

Casual Wedding Look Several characteristics of a semi-formal casual wedding: printed invitations for under one hundred guests; Groom attired in either a dark suit or a tuxedo; Bride attired in a floor-length gown; one or two bridesmaids and ushers; reception with buffet or hors d’ oeuvres following the ceremony.
Non Tradtional Wedding Look  Non Traditional  Non Formal, casual/ relaxed wedding. An informal wedding could be held anywhere including City Hall. A simple ceremony is performed and usually there are less than fifty guests. A small informal reception at someone’s house or at a restaurant may follow the ceremony.

Here is a photo from my wedding just for kicks 🙂 (semi formal/ non traditional)
